Jury Verdicts Northwest began in 1962, when verdict reporting meant a typewriter, courthouse phone calls, and a mailing list of Washington trial lawyers. The premise was simple and it has not changed: attorneys value cases better when they can see what actually happened in cases like theirs.

Every case is rewritten by hand into one consistent, comparable format.

However a case reaches us, it is rewritten into the same careful format, so each report carries what a working lawyer needs: the parties and their counsel, the experts and their credentials, the injuries, the specials, the demand and offer where disclosed, and the result.

Today that work spans four regional publications, a custom search desk, and a searchable research database covering reports from 2000 forward. Published reports are also submitted to Westlaw and LexisNexis for inclusion in their national databases.

Jury Verdicts Northwest remains an independent, Washington-based publisher, led by Melissa Reynolds. The methods have modernized — online delivery, PDF back issues, and now a searchable research database — but the standard is the 1962 standard: careful, complete, and useful the day it arrives.
